Pluck away

Well, the Bananaphone reminds me of a clip from a TV show that someone showed me several years ago. I seem to recall I was at the home of soon-to-be-married Footguard and his recenly married roomate TC (at least, I think that’s where I was? What can I say, there was beer involved…) and this British chick was trying to convince us all that a certain English children’s TV show had scarred her for life. The following clip demonstrates how humour injected into a children’s TV show for the benefit of the adult audience can be taken much, much too far… LMFAO!!

  1. Aaah – I do remember this clip from said party. And yes, while there was much beer involved at that time, it’s still unbelievably hilarious! Too bad today’s kids’ shows are so bland and homogenized… Would make watching them with our kids MUCH more entertaining!

Can’t believe this show got by the censors, but they were probably high too at the time!

  2. Hah! You were there too? (In fact, I think Kaveman was also…) I’m embarassed to report, by the way, that this may not be entirely legit; drunken Brit girl’s assertions notwithstanding, a bit of YouTube research after I posted this revealed several other posts of this footage, some with comments indicating it never aired. Others claim it did. Who knows?

Funny how some things really do slip past the censors, though, like that infamous Lion King scene…
